just got back from the wt study and it overall was just so blindingly biased and leading.. i had to read it from the platform too, i hope they couldn't see the confounded look on my face as i read this craziness out!.
first we consider the faith of abel, enoch, noah, abraham, isaac and jacob, and moses.. all of these people are held up as sterling examples of blind faith, with the article pointedly saying that their imaginations sustained their faith in gods promises for them.
no mention anywhere at all that all of these characters saw and talked to angels, spoke to god himself, saw and performed miracles, or any of the other feats experienced by these characters.

"So by virtue of being born in those cultures these ones are pretty much doomed according to JWs."
Their reasoning goes that they weren't expecting to be resurrected into such a magnificent paradise so they will be more likely to convert from their previous faith.

I remember a sister who said that the oceans will no longer exist in order to fit the many resurrected ones. Of course, doing the math - oceans have three times the area of land masses - will still not allow for much of a drastic population increase.
I do remember the Aid to Bible Understanding book giving a plausible scenario as to how a resurrection of tens of billions of people would be able to live in Paradise. It was probably one of Raymond Franz's contribution since he had a good head on his shoulders.

Esse quam videri:
The Watchtower said that about helicopters? Where would I find that?"
I forget which Watchtower or Awake article it was in but it was mentioned in Clint Eastwood's movie A Perfect World where a JW child tells an escaped convict, played by Kevin Costner, that his religion is against it. In the final scene the convict played by Eastwood makes the child's mother promise that she allow her son to fly in a helicopter.
The movie was accurate about JW beliefs with one exception (hell) and was considered to be one of Eastwood's best, though underrated movies.

Notice the uncovered face, make-up and stylish glasses that seemingly go against the spirit of a full blown ensemble.

"It does strike me as a symbol of subservience and silence. It would be interesting to confirm this information from a legit source."
There is a great span in the attire of Muslim women depending on the degree of religiosity they have.
Wearing the veil could be interpreted as a simple act of modesty projected unto their god. It is the more advanced levels of dress that could be considered a sign of subservience to men.
The purpose of the most extreme forms of Muslim dress for women seems aimed at the goal of turning them into a shapeless blob that would not allow men to see them and thus be the subject of fantasy. It's intended to keep men from jerking off at night to the sight of a woman they would just happen to see during the day. This would not be far from what Jesus said about those who look at a woman with lust as committing adultery in their hearts - Matthew 5:27-30. Conservative Muslims simply take Jesus' words to their logical extreme an save men from the temptations of a mere ideation.
